  • Sizing tools

    Barometric pressure as a function of altitude
    The "atmospheric pressure" at sea level and standard conditions is 101.325 kPa ≈ 1013 mbar and decreases with altitude.

    Vapour pressure of water
    The minimum suction pressure of a liquid ring vacuum pump is set by the vapour pressure of the seal liquid: if the suction pressure reachs the vapour pressure of the seal liquid then the suction capacity will drop to zero and the pump will cavitate - and cavitation will damage the vacuum pump.
